Scouts
Boy Scout Troop 139. The troop has
been in existence, in several locations, for 54
years and at latest count, boasts 143 Eagle Scouts -
the highest rank a Boy Scout can achieve. The Troop
is chartered by St. Francis de Sales.
Meetings are held each Monday night in the school
auditorium from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. We currently have
50 boys registered in the troop; some from St.
Francis, but the majority come from other schools in
the area. The Troop enjoys hiking, backpacking,
camping, target shooting, archery, rock climbing,
bike riding and other fun activities on weekends. We
are active in community projects as well including
serving Thanksgiving dinners to the homeless,
painting the dining hall of a homeless shelter,
building shelves in a local food bank, donated money
and clothing to hurricane victims and painted the
lockers in the SFDS junior high classrooms.
