Service Projects:

Please remember those in need.

August/September:
We will be collecting backpacks, small duffle bags, and "comfort  itmes" to be placed inside the bags. Examples of comfort items  include small stuffed animals, crayons or markers, and drawing pads for younger children, plus journal notepads with pens, and toiletries for teens. The bags will be used by the social workers to help pack the child's belongings when they have to do an "emergency removal" of a child in a bad situation. The “comfort items" will help the child as they wait in the Social Worker's office or first arrive in a foster home. The Department of Children and Family Services steps in to protect children in situations of neglect or abuse. The backpacks and the few items inside help to make a very stressful situation a little bit easier for the child whose world is turning upside down through no fault of their own.
